    Couldn't open file *.dem for reading?

    as title, I can't open dem file to watch ... the console give me that message ...

    ] playdemo test
    CDemoFile::Open: couldn't open file test.dem for reading.

    The file called test.dem probably doesn't exist. Are you sure you put it in the correct folder? It should go in the folder called "replays".

    Thats because the default folder where "playdemo" command searches is /dota 2 beta/dota/ but your replay files are located in /dota 2 beta/dota/replays/
    In order to play a .dem file without moving it to another folder you have to type "playdemo replays/89234" where 89234 is the match id.
    Also the file test.dem will probably give you an error. I'm not sure whats the purpose of this file, but it is not a replay of a game you played.
    Example of what I get:
    ] playdemo replays/test
    ERROR: demo network protocol 38 outdated, engine version is 40
    Failed to read demo header.

    this only works on .dem files for the current version of the game? i just tried to open one and the game just closed :s
