You guys are ignorant. Why on earth would Valve digg their own grave by making cosmetics toggable. If you don't see that then please don't show your face in the business world. Instead make a poll that Dota 2 should only include fitting cosmetics.

The truth is that since Dota2 will be F2P, Valve has to make money from the game somehow to support development and upkeep. If you add an option to turn off cosmetic items, people will be less likely to buy cosmetic items from the store. Like I said, what's the point of selling cosmetic items if not everybody will see them in-game? Just be happy they aren't making you pay for Heros or adding in game-breaking "pay to win" items.

Who decides what is "fitting" and what is not?

    Read OP:

It's Valve's decision to force people to work around cosmetics or also earn the favor of the portion of audience who don't want cosmetics. It's just a script for us. Won't take a week before one's out. Or you can just give us the option (or sell it, that's fine too) and get our praise.
In other words, for the people that won't buy items anyways, it doesn't affect Valve... since, y'know... there aren't any potential sales to be had. I'm sure you, with your infinite wisdom regarding the business world, would know this.

Dunno if this has been mentioned before, but maybe something you can buy in the shop that lets you disable items for a certain amount of time or something, that way everybody wins.
