    [Confirmed] Gyrocopter's Homing Missile

    Summary:

Enemies can see the rocket as soon as it is planted, according to playdota they are supposed to see it 1 second after it starts moving (http://www.playdota.com/heroes/gyrocopter)

    Repro:

    1) Create a custom lobby, get a friend in.
    2) Fire Rocket from Uphill where he cannot see you
    3) He sees the rocket as soon as it is dropped (at least he told me that)

    Expected Result:

Enemy gains vision over the rocket 1 second after it starts moving.

Hm is this fixed? Because you can still see gyrocopter when he casts the spell. But don't you always see a hero casting a spell on you (like attacks) or is gyrocopter an exception?

You don't always see the hero when he used a skill.
You always see the hero when he attacks you.

You always see the hero if it is a unit-targetted ability (which Homing missile is). If it is a ground-targetted or universal ability you don't.

Hm yeah that is kinda what my question is. Because it is said on PD forums that you will see the missile 1 second after launch. Anyone remembers if you saw gyro when he casted the ability or not in dota 1?

i'm pretty sure pd is right on this one.
afterall hm is not a spell cast on the target like lightning strike or finger of death.
it doesnt affect the target directly.

Okey so the correct behavior would be that if Gyro casts the homing missile from the fog the enemy hero wont be able to see the missile until 1 second after launch? With other words Gyro wont reveal his position when homing missile is casted. Because right now Gyro is revealed directly when casting Homing Missile (I have tested). Someone should really test this in dota 1 though.

    you guys are right.
gyrocopter is indeed revealed on cast in wc3 dota.
the rocket however is not revealed until it starts flying.

So... There was no issue from the beginning.

    1. The Gyrocopter (not the Rocket) gets briefly revealed for casting a targeted spell.
    2. Then everything gets behind covered by the fog once again.
    3. And then 1 second after the Rocket gets launched this time the Rocket provides its target vision.
