    [Confirmed] Shadow Shamans Shackle dealing dmg in wrong intervals

    stumbled across this bug thx to this thread http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=59671 , and couldnt find it in the intended fix list, nor as report.

    Summary:
    Shackle deals damage in 0.1 second intervals of 4 dmg instead of 1 second intervals.

    Repro Steps:
    Pick Rhasta, shackle something.

    Result:
    HP of target drops constantly. Which results in 100/130/160/190 dmg for the total duration.

    Expected Result:
    HP of target drops every second. (starting at 0.1 seconds or something like that, then at 1.1 ..) which results in a total dmg of 120/160/160/200 (3/4/4/5 ticks)


    actually rather big bug imo, surprised nobody found it yet 0.0

    thats what the repro steps and results are for, dude; just try it

    edit: and ye, it says 40 dmg per second, but thats not how it is ingame; there it is 4 dmg per 0.1 seconds

    About the damage per second in tooltips (and wiki), thats always the case, even if smaller ticks are intended (for example pudge rot every 0.2 sec)

    However regarding rhasta shackle Silverman is correct. Atleast in Dota 1 his expected results are used, 3/4/4/5 ticks 40 dmg each. (did only verify d1 with dmg on, did take current d2 behavior for granted as it resulted from the previous thread)

    It should tick with 1 second intervals not 0.1...


    I don't really know what to say. This has so many implications that...
    I mean, it is way too different now in many aspects:

    >> Total damage dealt:
    - in DotA, each tick happens at the beginning of each second; and if the duration is x:00, there won't be any ticks at the end
    - so it results in 3 4 4 5 ticks
    - so it results in 120 160 160 200 magical damage

    - in Dota 2, it tries to make each tick happen at the beginning of each 0.1 second; but it fails to do the initial tick on cast, so...
    - it results in [ roundup(duration*10) - 1 ] ticks; 24 32 39 47 ticks
    - and results in 96 128 156 188 magical damage


    >> Against Refraction and Living Armor:
    - it deals 40 magical damage, which gets reduced down to 30 with basic resistance in DotA, so those two spells clearly block them in DotA
    - in Dota 2, it goes through, since it deals only 3 damage on each tick...


    Okay, I couldn't think of anything else, maybe there aren't that so many implications of this...
    But still.

    Also one other implication you're forgetting is that ticks of 40 every second are enough to interrupt consumables, while ticks of 4 every 0.1 second doesn't interrupt consumables (damage too low to trigger).

    This is not fixed. The behavior is exactly the same as it was before the patch...
