    Essence Aura is not triggered with certain spells

    Summary:

    The Essence Aura is not triggered with some certain spells that are supposed to be able to trigger the Essence Aura, according to my tests done on DotA 6.75b Test Map.
    Those spells are:

    1. Tinker's Rearm
    2. Lone Druid's True Form and Druid Form
    3. Pugna's Life Drain with Aghanim's Scepter
    4. Skywrath Mage's Level 3 Mystic Flare with Aghanim's Scepter

    (there may be some more, feel free to report further ones on this thread)


    Reproduction Steps:
    1. Create an Outworld Destroyer with his Essence Aura ability maxed
    2. Create one of the heroes listed above
    3. Cast their specific spells repeatedly


    Result:

    The Essence Aura never triggers. Feel free to respond if you encounter a counter example.


    Expected Result:

    The Essence Aura should trigger occasionally.

    So, I do not recommend a systemmatical test. I rather recommend doing a quick skim through the heroes from PlayDota/heroes, or some other source, and test the spells that you think that might be bugged.

    I was just providing the list so people could test one way or the other. Whichever they thought was better.

    Just kidding... But, apparently it is already working like Typhox has suggested it to work on the Data Files thread ("everything that costs mana and has a cooldown + Arcane Orb"), however, it shouldn't be like that...

    There is no strict generalization for the Essence Aura triggering.
    Ball Lightning and Rearm are both in the same category: They both cost mana, and have no cooldown. But Ball Lightning should not and does not trigger it, however, Rearm does not, while it should.
    Pulse Nova has both cooldown and a manacost, but it should not and does not trigger the Essence Aura.

    There is just a somewhat generalization which is:
    Several skills with no cooldown (such as the Storm Spirit's Ball Lightning) and toggled spells (such as the Witch Doctor's Voodoo Restoration) cannot trigger Essence Aura. (from PlayDota)
    It is just "several", not "all". There are exceptions.

    There probably used to be a generalization the devs coded in but they fixed Essence Aura's interactions with ball lightning, voodoo, and pulse nova because of bug reports

    Let's not forget about a more severe problem that most items that should trigger Essence Aura don't. Although that has been already reported, it can not be mentioned often enough!

    Ball Lightning has also been fixed after some reports: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=23309

    And yeah, the Essence Aura could get a fix as a whole, along with the item issue that you have re-reported once again
    This thread has been added to the sticky. I think that the Essence Aura triggering issues can be grouped, since they are all about the same thing, the Essence Aura triggering
