    Test this, worked for me (chat clicks)

    Edit pak01_015.vpk in a compatible editor (I used Notepad++)

    Find these sections:

    "Chat.All.Received"
    {
    "channel" "CHAN_AUTO"
    "volume" "1.0"
    "soundlevel" "SNDLVL_NONE"
    "wave" "ui/ui_msg_received_all.wav"
    }

    "Chat.Team.Received"
    {
    "channel" "CHAN_AUTO"
    "volume" "1.0"
    "soundlevel" "SNDLVL_NONE"
    "wave" "ui/ui_msg_received_team.wav"
    }

    "Chat.Wheel.Received"
    {
    "channel" "CHAN_AUTO"
    "volume" "1.0"
    "soundlevel" "SNDLVL_NONE"
    "wave" "ui/ui_msg_received_wheel.wav"
    }

    -------------------------

    Close Dota, Change all "volume" sections to 0.0. save, restart Dota, annnnnd....

    POOOOOF, not more chat click noise!

    You cannot just delete a line, it will not let you play the game.

    I don't think this will get you banned in any way, as its just changing volume, but dont take my word for it, I take no responsibility.

    They should really just add the option to disable the sound.

    Jesus fucking christ, relax.
    They are trying something out. It will most likely change in the next big patch and you'll have a much better sound.

    Yeah, you have to keep everything the same or you will get an error, but you can change things like 1.0 to a 0.0 without breaking the game.

    Hopefully they will remove this feature soon and then icefrog can stop adding pointless features
