Dunno where you are from, but Facebooks privacy policy showed that not a real option. So rather than complaining to people they should turn this option off themselves. I tell you and other who wants it default to public, to make it change it to public them self.
To the ones who complains that they want to know how good they are, no matter how much you compare your gpm or xpm to others you can't tell buy this statistics how good of a player you are.

Stay away from my information without asking I say. And I'll keep it on off because of Dotabuff in the first place.

It is private default due to a legal obligation in the steam TOS. Jesus christ they will not change and it would be illegal to do so without first changing TOS, and having a TOS saying 3rd party sites will mine your data (this is global for all your activity on steam) is opening a huge can of worms.

This thread is a pointless waste of bytes

Take a look into the mirror! You think you are completely unfailable. With your limited knowledge, you think that you know more than someone who is very deep in the matter/an expert.

Maybe you should tell Valve to shutdown the TF2 API? There are tonnes of sites out their "mining TF2 data".

They have compiled rankings of users, they track complete item histories (using the item unique ID to track who has ever owned it).

Seems a little hypocritical to allow one thing and not the other.
