Dota 2 hero select crash megathread

i also kept on crashing when i picked tinker. also i seen a shadow shaman that dc about 3 seconds after picking his hero reconected and then dc'ed, so i think he had the same problem.

Ever since today's patch, trying to play any hero in Dota 2 crashes the game with no error for me. Trying to select the BUILDS tab under the Learn tab on the main menu causes the same type of crash.

I've tried to verify game files and even completely reinstalled Dota 2; both have had no effect.

Also for what they're worth, here are the .mdmp files Dota created after two crashes:

This just happened after the update, i was playing a tinker and after 2-5 seconds of going into the game (after hero selction screen you press play) it would freeze dota 2 and say dota 2 not responding. not sure what is causing it. i tried other heroes in a private lobby and it worked well (no crash)
i tried Verifying game cache, No help
i tried re installing the game, still no help
i play alot of tinker and used it as my featured hero, changed it to alchemist and still didnt work.
the last thing i did was check out the guide but that was all
plz help.
last match i played with the crashing is 132100048

Same. Just got 24 hours of LPQ because entering the game after randoming Tinker causes CTD

Yes, minidump files are awesome and super helpful. I'll host mine as well and archive these in OP

I got the same thing, except with Windrunner. It seems Dota 2 wasn't even able to write a .mdmp file because it was just straight-up locking and not responding whatsoever.

Saw this happen to two different people in the past three games. They were never able to connect and play the game and received abandons.
