Dota 2 hero select crash megathread

I have picked my hero (AR - Tinker) and launched the game but shortly after being at fountain, everything freezes. I restarted DotA and it wouldn't load/reconnect. I restarted Steam and got back in but it froze again immediately. I have played earlier today and for months without this sort of issue. No changes to my computer or software.

Thoughts?

Update:
I reconnected a third time and it froze again.

Now when I tried a fourth time the game is already considered abandoned. Please remove this abandon from my record.

Update x2:
I managed to get in after restarting again but now someone else on my team (Mag, no Tinker in game) froze and kept trying to get back in.

Yes just today I had this problem with my Dota 2 as well. Right after i picked, bought my items, and walked to the lane my game froze up. I restarted at least 4 times and each time after a few seconds i crash again, causing me to abandon a perfectly fine game. Never happened before.

Edit: I verified game cache as well, and it did not fix it.

I just randomed Tinker in team matchmaking and when I loaded into the game I immediately crashed. I got an abandon from immediately crashing every time I entered the game. I restarted my computer and tried to rejoin, which still crashed the client. I loaded up a practice game and picked Drow to see if it was a crash caused by something else - nothing happened and all was working without crashes. I then made a practice game and picked Tinker once more and the client crashed seconds after I entered the game.

Not sure if the bug is on my end or what, but a fix would be nice.

This bug happens to me if I start a game with Tinker, and so far, Tinker only.

In 5 seconds after I connect, dota 2 crashes to desktop.

With other heroes that I tested, like Naix, this problem doesn't seem to happen.

Same problem with me. Pick Tinker, the game crashes. Any other hero so far is fine.

Yes I just found that out too, it is with Tinker and only Tinker.

Verifying Cache didn't help.

Update: fired up the game again, set up a lobby and randomed Crystal Maiden, everything went well. I then set up another lobby and picked Viper to crash with another BEX error.
And Tinker causes a crash aswell.

I don't think it's related to tinker, but with the guide system, there are a lot of heroes with this issue.
