    [Confirmed] Visages familiars magic resistance

    from http://www.playdota.com/heroes/necrolic
Familiars have 96.25% magic resistance, and are targeted as heroes by abilities.

    level 1 familiars

    level 2 familiars

    level 3 familiars

all 3 have 94% magic resistance

now I tested this with sonic wave since it does a high damage

    600 damage, 30 dealth = 95% resistance

I tried it with a lower damage spell and split earth did 15 of its 300, 5% again

tried lightning storm and it did 13 damage (4.9%), so most likely just a rounding difference.

So despite saying they have 94%, they actually have ~95%, which is still incorrect

If they had the proper amount they would only take 22.5 damage from sonic wave, not 30. A small error, but still an error

according to the 6.66 changelog the familiars should have 95% magic resistance.
i cant find any more recent changes in the logs.

$10 says it's because they didn't add the 25% resistance from resistant skin... Same with warlock's golem.

95% resistant + resistant skins 25% would equal 96.25% total, so it should be that. Even if it didn't, 94% is incorrect when it should be 95%

Yeah. But dota 2's pretty good at truncating, it's probably 94.99% due to their coding system (your tests showed it being 95%, which I would trust > the UI in this case)

Well testing it on roshan in WC3 is pretty simple
his slam does 70 magic damage

    First slam:

    does "2" damage
    Second slam:
    http://i.imgur.com/EhvdAt7.jpg
    does "3" damage

This is because WC3 (like dota2) does not display decimals, but does factor them in.
If familiars were 95% resistance it would work like this:
slam would deal 70*.05 = 3.5 * 2 = 7 damage from both slams and the second screenshot would have them at 593/600
If familiars have 96.25% resistance it would work like this:
    slam would deal 70*.0375 = 2.625 x2 = 5.25 aka "5" damage and they'd end up at 595/600

The latter occurs, and thus in dota1 they have 96.25 resistance to magic damage.
