[Confirmed] Razor's Plasma Field's search range is way too wide

I don't really know what is the primary cause of this.
There also may be more than just one reason for this...

Plasma Field can hit up to 929 range afar (for high collision units, collision size matters)
it should be hitting at most 819 range afar (collision size doesn't matter)

The code for DotA map creates 36 tiny bits of damaging sources on every cycle, for every 10th degree out of 360.
On each cycle, they move 36 units afar from the Razor.
On each cycle they check for units that are within 100 area of effect.
    It damages them.
It dumps them in a group so that they won't get re-damaged.
Cleans that group up when it is halfway through.
Does all that in reverse direction.

    The halfway is 20.
20 * 36 = 720 is the most that damaging bits can be apart from the Razor
+100 searching range makes it possible to hit effectively 820 range afar.
When I test, I can get a unit damaged that is 819 units afar at most.

Here is what happens in Dota 2:

First of all, it is stated that the radius of the plasma field is 700, which is actually low...
Also, the max distance that Plasma Field can hit depends on the target collision size. It's alright, though it did not matter in DotA.

I cannot really know what the cause can be for this one...
    I can only speculate:
    - search range of the ring can be too high, something like ~205 units, so it ends up being 700 + 205 + 24 = 929
    - the radius of the field might be being added to Razor's own collision, plus ~181 units search range for the ring

I don't know why, but it is high... ~110 units too high.

^I will have to talk to you about rangefinder stuff in dota 2 later. Can you check what the range of Purify (omniknight) is? I have a feeling it's 225 + collision (enemy) instead of 250 centre to centre. I think that all skills should have a consistent targetting system, none of this half-half stuff that gets a bit confusing in WC3 DotA. However if the difference here is opposite to purify then it's still not logical...

    it is
I don't think we need consistency on that. Think about it a little... nobody cares. Nobody seeks for that. Nobody is confused.

I think I figured out the reason for this. I think the "damage ring" is off set. Instead of damaging units 100 units behind and infront of the visible ring, it only damages units 200 units infront of it, and never units behind it.

    Could that be it?

I think a better way of saying that would be just to say that the damage ring is ~100 units too large.

Nope, definitely sure it's just off set.

It hits 200 units infront of the ring but 0 units behind it, instead of 100 units infront and 100 units behind. It never hits units standing ontop of razor (via invis or phase), because it doesn't hit units before the ring, only behind.
