    [Confirmed] Shackleshot projectile lacks a death check for the targeted unit

    It continues to travel and stun the dead unit and if available also the secondary unit behind...
    all of its effects should stop as the targeted unit dies

    Proof for Dota2:

    Proof for DotA:

    Code:
    01 function Func2461 takes nothing returns boolean
    02    local trigger loc_trigger01=GetTriggeringTrigger()
    03    local integer loc_integer01=GetHandleId(loc_trigger01)
    04    local unit loc_unit01=(LoadUnitHandle(hashtable001,(loc_integ  er01),(45)))
    05    local unit loc_unit02=(LoadUnitHandle(hashtable001,(loc_integ  er01),(17)))
    06    local real loc_real01=(LoadReal(hashtable001,(loc_integer01),  (248)))
    07    local real loc_real02=Atan2(GetUnitY(loc_unit02)-GetUnitY(loc_unit01),GetUnitX(loc_unit02)-GetUnitX(loc_unit01))
    08    local integer loc_integer02=(LoadInteger(hashtable001,(loc_integ  er01),(5)))
    09    local real loc_real03=GetUnitX(loc_unit01)+50*Cos(loc_real02)
    10    local real loc_real04=GetUnitY(loc_unit01)+50*Sin(loc_real02)
    11    local unit loc_unit03
    12    local destructable loc_destructable01
    13    local lightning loc_lightning01
    14    local unit loc_unit04
    15    local boolean loc_boolean01=(LoadBoolean(hashtable001,(loc_integ  er01),(249)))
    16    if GetTriggerEventId()==EVENT_UNIT_DEATH then
    17      call FlushChildHashtable(hashtable001,(loc_integer01))
    18      call Func0035(loc_trigger01)
    19      call KillUnit(loc_unit01)
    20    else
    [...]

    starting with the line 16...
    Func0035 kills triggers
    loc_unit01 is the shackleshot arrow

    Happens at least once in an average game

    Hmmm, did you actually test it? Cause I can't recall if heroes are considered dead as soon as their HP drops below 0.405 or if after that dying time.

    When they die, they are considered dead.
    If they were holding aegis, then they are just considered as UNIT_STATE_HEALTH < 1, and not dead.

    But, yeah, I did test it just to make sure.
    Also, according to what I've said above, Shackleshot SHOULD continue travelling and potentially stunning the units behind if the targeted unit is only at zero HP (aka resurrecting). So, on that aspect, Dota 2 is correct now, and that part should remain untouched in case this is to be fixed.
