Thread: FPS Command / checkbox or something

FPS Command / checkbox or something

As the title says, I think it would be really easier for players to turn fps display on/off from the game's settings rather than starting the game with the -console command line. It would be more accessible.

How do you add the -console command line to Dota 2? Sorry for asking.

steam > dota 2 properties > startup parameter > put -dev in there.

on a side note you can preset console commands to launch every time the game starts by making a autoexec.cfg file within C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg folder

cl_showfps 1 will show fps but there is one for average fps correct? So you can actually see the numbers?

net_graph 1/2/3 works for showing FPS by numbers if you mean that.

You can also use third party tools like fraps.

Yes you can but it would be easier for a player that hasn't used Steam before to have that option and it would send them the message that you are careful to little details.
As you've noticed, even some of the beta testers don't know for sure how to do it.
It is not a necessary add to the game right now but I think you should put it on the "To do" list.

Thank you and have a nice day.
