Remember that for every player with, say, a 60:40 ratio, there is a corresponding player with 40:60 ratio who will come in these very forums and complain about the MMR system being unfair and giving him negative ratio.
Having a system that gives you slightly more than 50:50 (which is typically true for most accounts as far as I can tell) is perfect!

Most people smurf to avoid chat mutes they didn't earn.

I'm 100% in support of smurfing to do this.

Fuck the morons at Valve that let this mute system continue.

Yes. Just right now I am creating a smurf because I got muted for the first time. I never flame or talk shit or anything.

Smurfing is part of the game. The MMR causes people to make new accounts (and a fresh MMR tends to actually give you good games, I found atleast... and by good I mean non-stomp games)... and as more smurfs are created, MMR starts to massively throw more games... causing people to make new accounts... which causes massive throws.

I think there is a problem... and the root is in the MMR again.

Sorry to hear that you got banned.

    Glad to hear you're smurfing.

Be sure to use your reports each week to punish people who don't deserve muting.

Remember, its what Valve wants you to do.

Smurfing isn't actually allowed at all. It's just EXTREMELY difficult to stop. Having multiple accounts may not violate any rules of DOTA 2, but it is in direct violation of the Terms of Service you all agreed to when you signed up for your first steam account. Violating this rule should and CAN get you banned from the steam network completely, although that is equally hard to enforce.

Only Valve can tell about the matchmaking system. One thing is for sure: it's not flawless. I am often paired with players wayyyy above my rank and get crushed by them.
It's only a game, but people are real. You have to respect them.

Who cares? If you smurf, you're either going to play with players that don't actually mind losing matches because they're still learning the game (meaning they're too busy having fun figuring out what the heroes do and trying out their abilities to even care about trolls), or with other smurfs.

Might as well play with bots, the level of challenge is the same.
