    Explored vs Unexplored areas

If you don't use minimap background colors, you can't tell explored from unexplored areas when you're looking around in fog.

In dota 1 they have two different looks, dark and darker fog. In dota 2 it's all the same color - which makes it really difficult for some heroes, such as Furion, to know where he can TP.

This, or remove unexplored areas completely. Never liked that old WC3 mechanic.

Definitely. It was an unnecessary mechanic that was carried over from Warcraft 3, where it was used to prevent the use of Blink to scout certain areas.

its not about like or dislike the mechanic. its about balance.
removing unexplored is a huge earlygame buff for prophet/am/qop and dagger.

Well, make the only unexplored area the bases of each side. Since furion would be stupid if he could just tp into your fountain and kill your courier level 1.

Wouldn't he die pretty immediately in that situation?

btw I've never seen that happen and you could just use clockwerks missile to explore that area (or even your own courier )

If you have Clockwork to give you sight at level 1, you can often kill it before being killed. You would need to TP out right away though.

You usually buy flying, use it to scout for enemy courier, buy tp scroll, teleport in, one shot courier, use tp scroll back home. You do not need to stand in the fountain area to kill the courier.

Well, but that issue doesn't get solved by "unexplored areas" ???
You wrote that you would buy flying courier and use that to scout. But when you scouted the area you could teleport to it anyway... With or without unexplored area doesn't make any difference.
